Routeburn Track
Mount Aspiring National Park

FULL DAY HIKE - jetboat option

hike

The Valley of Giants; join your guide in the beech forests of the mighty Dart braided river valley carved out by a massive ancient frozen glacier and still being chiselled to perfection today by the forces of water.

A land travelled since the beginnings of early Maori times in their search and pilgrimage for valuable pounamu and trod still earlier by several species of now extinct Moa, this place is still changing as the dynamic forces of nature sculpture and surprise us.

Decide upon the best option for exploring the valley by walking, or combining with a jet boat ride and walk out to view the spectacular bluffs, mountains, river flats and mountains with mysterious time forgotten names like Pikirakatahi (Mount Earnslaw) classical peaks like Nox, Chaos, Amphion, and galactic - Cosmos, Pluto - from all angles.
